Why have you chosen your sport and how long you have been doing it?
I grew up in a sporty family where triathlon was inflected every day. My father was and still is an active triathlete, so we spent all weekends at triathlon events. I swam competitively until I was 10, but I never made it to the finals. I purposefully started preparing for triathlon when I was 10 years old and since then I have not missed a single triathlon season. So it's 20 years in triathlon, the last 6 years as a Professional triathlete.
What motivates you to compete? What is your why?
It's a tough question. Triathlon is already part of my life and I can't imagine life without triathlon. But finding motivation for the whole 20 years is very difficult. That's why I look for motivation in new races that I like and I want to be the best in them.
I discovered INFINIT Nutrition completely by accident in Australia in my swimming group. Before each training session we had the opportunity to take “some ISO drink” from the coach and Elite swimmers. I found that it suited me and I felt strong after it. After some time I find out that “secret ISO drink” is from INFINIT Nutrition. After my return back to the Czech Republic, I found out that this nutrition will be produced in the Czech Republic, so I did not hesitate and approached the guys from INFINIT Europe. I had the best opportunity to try all the products of this brand and I cannot imagine training and racing without INFINIT.
Which INFINIT product you like the most and why?
That's really hard to say. I love all products from INFINIT but my most often used product is INFINIT :HYDRATE with caffeine boost for shorter training sessions (swimming training and running training) and after training I regularly treat myself with INFINIT :REPAIR so I can train next day without limitation.
Any recommendations or sport hacks that you would like to pass to the athletes in your sport?
Triathlon consists of three challenging sports. I often meet overtrained individual triathletes who stop enjoying the sport and only think about how many hours they have trained. It is important to train smart and think about each training session. If you do not make a living from this sport, it is important to make the most of every hour spent training and avoid overtraining and frequent separation from the family due to training.
Your motto or the best motivation line for the start of the week that gets you going?
Motivational music and the time left for the race :)
