Our Annual Homage to the Team INFINIT Moms of Multisport

They juggle the demands of taking care of a family, building a career, and essentially organizing the chaos of everyday life, and that’s just before noon. Yet somehow make it all look so easy.

We honor the multitasking moms of Team INFINIT. We probably all have memories of our moms helping us learn how to ride a two-wheeler, getting up early to shuttle us to swim practice, and sitting through all-day meets and competitions.

On top of all that, this group of multisport mamas absolutely crush it on their own two wheels and manage to balance a demanding training load with their everyday busy lives. They are there for their kids’ first steps, and then go out to run 10 miles of their own.

From motherhood to athletics, from work to play, this is our salute to all the moms in training!

Rachel Brenke

Rachel Brenke’s triathlon journey began just three months after her youngest daughter was born in early 2015. The high she experienced when she crossed the finish line of her first sprint tri led her to sign up for an IronGirl that same summer, diving right into long-course triathlons. Last year, she was even selected for one of 40 commemorative slots at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona as a part of their 40 Years of Dreamscelebration.

Rachel’s days are jam-packed as a mother, entrepreneur, and triathlete. Every day, she wears multiple hats, starting from 6 a.m. when she hits the ground running with her first workout of the day, followed by getting her kids off to school, advising clients as a lawyer, recording episodes of her top-ranked podcast, and serving as a USA Triathlon ambassador.

Rachel’s big message she tries to drive home to other moms in training:

“Motherhood doesn't have to be all about our kids. It's about self care and setting an example for our kids at the same time. The journey to health, physical and mental, can be found in athletics while simultaneously inspiring the next generation.

We need to start letting go over motherhood guilt and recognize that when we do things to fill our own cups we are pouring out into our children on ways to live, physically and emotionally.”

Kayla Bowker

Triathlete and coach, Kayla Bowker, has finished top in her age group in multiple 140.6 and 70.3 distances over the past few years. She has competed in the Ironman World Championships twice, most recently being in 2018 where she finished 8th in her age group.

Kayla is a newly expecting mother-to-be with some serious grit and determination.

“When I found out I was pregnant, the thought of totally having to give up my passions for almost a year brought me to tears.” But within minutes of finding out, Kayla made a choice to continue to chase her dreams no matter what. This was a decision that has received a lot of pause from others.

“For some reason the second women become pregnant the idea is that we become fragile flowers that mustbe handled with kid gloves…. When in fact, as I am realizing, being pregnant makes us more tough, it makes us even more in tuned with our bodies than we already are, it immediately makes us stronger.

Racing while pregnant takes on a whole new meaning of strength and perseverance and I feel as though because of my actions I have gained a new strength that will follow me the rest of my life. Plus, Baby really likes to race.

Kayla also had great role models in her own mother and father, who taught her how to balance a family while still chasing your dreams

“I grew up watching my parents continue to chase their passions and they merely just brought my sister and I along. From spending winters on the beach in Baja, Mexico, to chasing powder days in the mountains, and backpacking all over the Northwest they just brought us along. Through these adventures I learned more about patience, perseverance, adventure, being tough, never giving up on your dreams, life, family, and love than I ever could have anywhere else. It is these adventures that give me hope that I will be able to find the balance of life of an athlete and a mother.”

Courtney Culligan

Mother, teacher, triathlete, and coach — Courtney Culligan does it all, and her three sons are her biggest fans.

So how does she find the ability and energy to balance all of these different responsibilities while raising a young family?

“The simple truth is that I absolutely love everything I do, so it seems to come naturally. In my eyes, life is a journey of self-discovery, re-invention, prioritizing, re-prioritizing, lessons learned, dreams realized and passions followed.” Courtney’s expertise in balancing a career, motherhood, and competing in triathlons has given her a wealth of knowledge that she passes on to other athletes through coaching.

She also keeps nutrition simple. Keeping training and race day fueling easy to execute, consistent, and repeatable. In addition to her own INFINIT Custom Blend, she is a big fan of :REPAIR and :NOCTURNE to help her recover properly, and get back to all that she does.

Ginny Cataldi

Ginny Cataldi is an elite triathlete, influencer, as well as a teacher, and a mother of two. While working full time, she manages to handle motherhood and a rigorous training regimen.

Her tireless work ethic and drive has led her to become a beacon for people trying to find themselves, saying, “Everyone has a story. Everyone has something they battle. My goals are to give hope, advice, and motivation.” She believes that each person has their own barometer of success, and believes that passion is the key to her’s.

Every mom has a story, every athlete has a story. We here at INFINIT send a heartfelt shout out to all that moms do, and all they are capable of. For every mile ridden, and hug given, we say “Thank you, mom.”
